Summer Academic Programs

DePaul Catholic hosts a variety of Academic Summer Programs. Please contact Ms. Kimberely Forsyth, Coordinator of Summer Study, with any questions or concerns.
July 9 - July 19 (Monday-Thursday)
For rising 8th and 9th grade students.

Preparing for High School Algebra (8:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.)
This course is designed to ease the transition into high school mathematics for the students who will be taking Algebra I. It will focus on solving equations, monomials, and polynomials and various topics included in a first year algebra course.

Preparing for High School English (10:20 a.m. - 12:05 p.m.)
The English course will focus on the fundamentals of writing a five-paragraph essay in MLA format. It will work to develop a student's ability in reading comprehension, writing, grammar and usage skills, and vocabulary.

Study Skills for Success  (12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.)
This course will focus on strategies to help students achieve academic success. Topics covered will include techniques for reading a textbook, outlining, taking notes, studying for tests, and balancing time between academics and extracurricular activities.
High School Placement Test (HSPT) Exam Prep for Success (10:20 a.m. - 12:05 p.m.)
This course will focus on preparing for the HSPT exam, which is required by Catholic schools across the state for admission. Topics covered will be test strategies, studying for the test, prep work, and tips for achieving success. (For rising 7th and 8th grade students)
